Cardiff School of Art & Design launched a 5-week D&AD New Blood Competition Brief. In that time, I planned and researched my concept, then out of university hours I would improve my design and outcomes. I chose Refinery 29 and The Case For Her to break the stigma of menopause across all age ranges. I created Let’s talk about eggs as a friendly reminder to all genders and ages to start the conversation all about menopause.
The main outcome is an egg box to be sold in the real world both online and in-store. This box contains a circle booklet, which replaces an egg. These designs lead to social media and online communities.
As a young woman, I didn’t know that I’m born with all my eggs which means they can “run out” and I’m not the only one. I understand menopause can be overwhelming and isolating especially with a mum currently in the stages of perimenopause. I created this campaign for her and to see the taboo subject from a new perspective by taking it to the one place everyone goes; the shops.
